What is the difference between remodeling and new construction?

While this question is somewhat straightforward, the answer is not. In remodeling versus new construction, a sq.ft. to sq.ft. comparison doesn’t really work and there are numerous reasons for this. For example, in home remodeling, some areas may have higher costs since they will be more affected, while other areas might have lower costs. And there's the myth, of course, that kitchens cost more than basements or bedrooms. So a square foot price for a remodel will have different values for different work and is rarely accurate, depending on what is being remodeled and materials selected.  New construction is just that.  New.  There is no building onto an existing structure, therefore, a square foot price is almost always accurate.

How stressful is my project going to be?

Statistics show that remodeling or renovating your home can be one of the most stressful endeavors you will take on and put you on an emotional roller coaster.  Proper planning and choosing the right professionals to do the job is the key to success.  .

How much will my project cost?  Do I need financing?

There are so many variables with each project that it's difficult to provide an entire estimate without seeing your home and walking through your project. You can get started now by contacting us to schedule an appointment.  Financing options are also available.  Visiting our Finance page will help answer additional questions you may have.

What is the typical length of time it takes for a home remodeling project?

Typically, a complete bathroom remodel usually takes 2-3 weeks from the start of installation to completion depending on the materials selected. A kitchen remodel takes 3-4 weeks for installation while finished basements can take 4-6 weeks depending on the options you have chosen. Home additions cover such a wider range of options and a customized scheduled is produced at the planning stage.

Can I do some of the work myself?

Many of our customers like to do some of the work on their own.  This is not uncommon. We will work with you to determine those needs and where it may save you additional dollars in your budget.  In addition, if that is one of your main concerns, we will always offer options and walk your through process at the initial stage of the project to ensure that we maintain the agreed upon schedule and you budget.

Can I provide my own materials and specialty items?

Some of our customers like to handle purchasing and supplying their own materials and specialty items.  While it may make sense in some cases, we do caution that this action inevitably impacts the timing and completion of a project.  As a full-service professional remodeling company, we often have direct access to distributors for these items and will ensure that they are ordered on time and within your budget.  This is actually an added step that is not needed when you hire our company as it is part of the services we provide and is included in the cost of the project.  Also, our customers who have gone this route have learned that they did not save any dollars – in fact, they spent more time and money trying to find the product or materials and ended up way over budget and with a significantly delayed job.
